Summary
Hakuri, first in line to head the renowned Sazanami family’s merchant business, has been frail and sickly since as far back as he could remember. Despite his poor health, his father Kyora still has hope for him as the heir and plans to send Hakuri on a trip to the family lake house. As the Sengoku period nears its end, the growing problem of bandits on the road becoming more common—and few samurai remaining left to fight them—convinces Kyora to hire a new bodyguard for his son.
Chihiro needs the money. After all, he’s been wandering as a ronin for three years since his father was killed. It’s an opportunity to put his skill with the blade to use, but more importantly: all the traces of his father’s murderer lead to Kyora, and Chihiro hasn’t given up on revenge. If his heart beats a little faster when the master’s son smiles at him, he can learn to hide it. He has to.

Summary
Chihiro snorted at Hakuri’s excessive use of emoticons. Hakuri only had the phone for less than a day, but already found out how to use them.
It’s kind of cute.
…?
Hm? Cute?
Was it normal to call another boy your age cute?Chihiro learns Hakuri has never had a phone before, and convinces Shiba to buy him one (for emergencies, of course, no other reason.) Texting ensues.

Summary
“Kid’s real obedient, coming right over when you call his name. Like a dog,” Shiba tilts his head in Hakuri’s direction. “I can almost see his tail wagging.”
Chihiro says nothing, turning away to watch Hakuri reprimand Char for eating his ice cream cone, then go buy another one.
Shiba doesn’t miss the way the tips of his ears turn pink.

Summary
“I'll let you drink my blood!”
What? Yoshida froze. He hadn’t meant to say that.“What?” Denji echoed, turning back to Yoshida.
“My blood,” Yoshida repeated. “I'll let you drink some of it. If you want to,” His mouth was moving faster than his brain could process what he was saying. “I wouldn't mind.”
Denji's gaze dropped and lingered on Yoshida's extended hand, the spot on his wrist where his sleeve had ridden up and his veins were barely visible under his pale, almost transparent skin.
⸻
Denji is a vampire. He intends to keep that a secret, and graduate highschool – after that, he’ll do what he can to support the half-vampire little girl (and her 7 dogs) he’s been saddled into mothering and raise her to be nothing like the one who left her behind. For some reason, an annoying transfer student upperclassman won’t leave him alone, and then the worst thing happens: he finds out Denji’s true nature.
But Yoshida isn’t all that he seems, and he promises to keep Denji’s secret too. Denji supposes there’s not much harm in one innocent human knowing. And, well, that funny feeling he gets in his chest when Yoshida pesters him will go away eventually… won’t it?
