Summary
Will’s brain basically short-circuits. He doesn't even need to turn around to know who it is. Even after six years of radio silence, his body still possesses this fucked-up muscle memory when it comes to Mike Wheeler.
He forces himself to look up.
And fuck. It is Mike. Standing right there just inside the patio.
He’s taller than Will remembers, which is saying something. The gangly and slightly awkward teenager Will had spent years trying to scrub from his memory is completely gone. His dark hair is longer from last he saw him, curling damply against his neck from the autumn drizzle outside. There’s a permanent shadow of stubble along his jawline, totally erasing any lingering softness from when they were kids. It’s almost unfair how strikingly handsome he got.
The worst part, though, is his eyes. They lock directly onto Will’s, blown wide with shock.
OR Will spent years trying to violently freeze Mike out of his system. But as they stand together in the empty, 4 AM chill of the rink, crushed under the heavy weight of Mike's unwavering stare, Will realizes the ice isn't the thing that's going to destroy him this time.

Summary
During the summer of 1990, Will Byers goes missing after getting into a fight with Mike Wheeler.
Mike looks everywhere for his best friend, even going so far as to crash Max Mayfield and Jane Hopper's date, just to get an idea of how to tell Will he is truly sorry, for when he turns up.
But, he has no luck. And instead of doing the sensible thing of calling the police, he has a better idea. A genius idea. He can use Jane's powers to track down Will instantly!
Only, what he finds only fuels his anger. Lucas Sinclair and Will Byers. Kissing.
OR hopelessly in love Mike Wheeler uses Jane's mind powers to find Will, only to see him kissing Lucas :D

Will had changed. Quietly. Gradually. The way things rot from the inside out without anyone noticing at first.
Of course, the world around him had changed too.
He’d started hanging out with people he wasn’t supposed to. Kids who laughed too loud and didn’t ask questions. Lucas was around more often now — partly because he wanted to be, partly because Max had made it very clear that if he abandoned Will, she’d make him regret it.
Will swallowed hard.
The house felt too small.
He slipped out of his room, grabbed the jacket hanging by the door, and stepped into the cold night air. The first inhale burned his lungs as he lit a cigarette, the tip glowing orange in the dark.
He didn’t look back at the house.
Instead, he started walking — hands in his pockets, smoke trailing behind him — toward the place that felt easier these days.

Summary
"Listen, let's try this?" Mike suddenly suggested, turning to him.
"Try what?" Will stared at him, feeling something inside him twitch.
"Well, let's try these positions again. Just for fun." Mike was already excited by the idea; you could tell by the way his eyes lit up. "Look how they twist and turn. I wonder if it's really possible to sit like that, if it's even comfortable, or if it's just a thing in the movies for show?"
OR: Mike and Will accidentally watch porn instead of a horror movie, and Mike suggests, as a joke, that they try to replicate the positions just like in the movie, but this goes a bit too far.
