Akito doesn’t know what he’s doing. He’ll be gone in 262 days. Yet here he is, pulling someone else with him in whatever messed up stuff life pretends to throw at him until then. Akito knows he isn’t the best person to be around someone like Toya, for Toya’s own sake, but still.
A bucket list, his thoughts and the outside world. Akito doesn't need anything else.
At least that's what he thought, until Toya slowly started to enter his life.

The man in front of him was gorgeous, with two toned hair and slanted eyes, his face impassive and perfect. Akito’s mouth ran dry. The boy’s hair fell in wet clumps, perfectly framing his expression. Akito let his eyes wander down his porcelain skin, settling in the drop of his shoulder with awe. He was lean and beautiful, Akito had to pinch his forearm to make sure he wasn’t dreaming. He looked down further and saw the shining tail, tangled with his previously set net. It was illuminating the water of its soft blue hue.
“I’m sorry…” the mermaid finally spoke, bringing Akito out of his stupor. “I’m… stuck.”
