Summary
See, in his time at sea with his new crew, Jay, himself, and even Earl have all gotten sick here and there. Gillion has decidedly not.
In fact, anyone on Chip’s ship who does get sick has to listen to him remind them about twenty-seven times—Jay kept a tally once—that he is completely unable to get sick due to his divine health. It’s, of course, like anything that Gillion tells them, not a lie.
Well, perhaps not quite.
OR Gillion misses home.

In the bright morning sunshine, it’s easy to see the line of Kira’s throat move as she swallows. She nods once, and then mutters, “Sorry, Doric.”
“Yeah, yeah. You’re forgiven.” Doric sighs. “You can do what you want, Kira. You just need to do it better than that.”
(In which Kira wants to be a rogue, Doric is the closest thing around, and she's not exactly pleased to be playing mentor. She gets over it.)

Chip’s hand spasmed in his surprise. The trigger gave way. The next thing he knew, he was enveloped in a rose-tinted cloud, his panicked eyes staring right into Gill’s.
Gill looked at the bottle in his hand, then at the pink mist. “What—?”
“Don’t breathe in!” Chip screamed, and in doing so, breathed in.

Gillion’s hand intertwined with Chip's in a motion they likely thought was subtle. Jay felt a knife level itself between her ribs. She kept her expression as blank as possible, even as Chip's cheeks flushed, even as a bitter jealousy stirred in her stomach. Envy was a wicked thing, after all.
