Not many people are aware of the Otherland. It often clings to the imaginations of young children, promoted by outlandish movies and fairy tales that talk of sentient flowers and funny looking cats. And it's halfway truthful, actually, compared to the actual place.
But those movies and storybooks sugarcoat things, they make them easy to consume, something children can swallow. The reality of this fiendish place, however, is much more ghastly, and a young perfumer from France is about to learn this the hard way.
or, in other words: in which chloe nair loses her sister, traps herself in a twisted wonderland-esque dimension, and subsequently finds her sister again.

Summary
They saved Zote.
That in itself is no large task, no grand fight, nothing even particularly noteworthy. It was simply a task, a jump to hit the gnawing beetle, and a very short scuffle, without any form of reward, short or longterm.
But they saved Zote, and his mask did not become part of the scenery, and that is the point.

They sleep. They wake. The world reverses, turns back on itself, and the Knight finally understands the words left by their sire, their father, their absent and distant creator; void, the force that denies time.
The power to wake a kingdom from its slumber. The power to break a cycle. All these things, they know.
But the power to snatch just one more life away from its inevitable end--They do not know, in truth, if they can do such an impossible thing. But there is power in them, lying dormant.
All they have to do is reach out and take it.
