Summary
Five years after the Borg-Changeling incident, Yoshi O'Brien is adrift. Not only is he trying to understand what happened to him and his peers, he's also deeply mourning the death of his husband, Dennis, who he had married only 2 months before everything went to hell. Starfleet is too much, and even a stay at Starfleet Medical hasn't helped. His Dad, Professor Miles O'Brien, worried about his deteriorating mental health, calls his "Aunt" Nerys who is semi-retired on Bajor. He's annoyed at first, but when she insists that he come to visit her, he reluctantly agrees, hoping that maybe the only person who'd ever truly understood him might be the person who could help him make sense of the world again.

Fennorian is on a mission in Skywatch when he runs into an old friend from his past life in Summerset. He thought he'd left it all behind.
“Fennorian? Is that you?” The high elf asked, hands cupped over her mouth. Zenoine was still just as stunning, just as beautiful as she was four years ago. Standing just down the road from him in a beautiful blue and white dress. Her long white hair stirred in the breeze. “Oh my gods. I thought you were dead. We all thought you were dead.”
Hesitantly, Fennorian took a step back. Had she not realized yet?
Zenoine took a step toward him. “Fennorian, it’s okay… don’t be scared. It’s just me.”
Isn’t this what he was supposed to be saying to her? After all these years, all the lines he’d run through his head for if he ever saw her again. Shouldn’t Fennorian be the one to convince Zenni not to be afraid? He was the vampire after all.
