Wanderer laughs, but it rattles something metallic in the back of his throat and snaps the last shred of composure inside of him. “Nice try, but I’m not—cherished like Niwa was. You miscalculated.”
“No,” says Dottore, “I don’t believe I have.”
Following the battle in Nod-Krai, Dottore abducts Wanderer and replaces him with a clone.

Summary
Instead of waking up from his coma, Scaramouche wakes up in his coma. He quickly finds out he has company, whether he wants it or not.
The Balladeer feels like Nahida has trapped him there to suffer, but in reality, she's just trying to set him on a better path. Eventually, he starts to come around - it just takes her a while to get him there, and he has to hit rock bottom first before he can climb.

Summary
She breaks him gently, the way she does everything.
"Don't you think it's time you moved on, Wanderer?" she asks, casually, innocently. "I have no need for you anymore."The Wanderer is shattered by Nahida's sudden rejection. It tears too deeply at old wounds for him to question whether something more is going on. Unexpectedly, it's another Dendro girl who helps get him back on his feet- hopefully in time to realize Nahida needs saving, too.
