Summary
There is only one path forward.
The Score foretells the full history of Auldrant. Following it will lead to unprecedented prosperity, so naturally, nearly everyone follows its prescribed path with religious dedication.
In many universes, for many varied reasons, an individual always goes to great and terrible lengths to overturn the Score and by doing so unwittingly fulfills it. This Auldrant is on track to becoming like so many others, and human history and Auldrant itself could forever be changed for the better.
Unfortunately, the rest of the universe doesn't know any of this or care, and the aliens who have recently crashed onto Auldrant are no exception. They are peaceful, yet their very existence on Auldrant destroys the possibility of humanity's foretold and hard earned prosperity with each passing moment.
The question of what to do about these unforseen beings from the stars is on all minds and has spawned countless discussions, debates, and arguments and has nearly sparked several wars, and still no one can come to an agreement.
But there is only one path forward.

It also sounds like a social experiment of some sort. A very fun one. And the clones that were selected and briefed would find it fun as well.
You just wish that the specific clones they assigned you to wouldn’t be disappointed with the person who they got. Nothing’s more humiliating than being rejected by the same dude in different clothes.
