That's what makes me love you, Dazai said when they first met, before trying and failing to pass it off as a joke, and now Chuuya understands how the realization can hit you like lightning, so sudden and overwhelming and unwanted. Dazai looked ashamed after he said it. Chuuya thinks he understands that now, too.
Or, Chuuya will go to any lengths for Dazai. He never expects that the reverse is also true.

Dazai's life has been a fucking mess. He can no longer count the times he's been fucked over, (literally and figuratively), the scars on his body seem even uglier, and the mixed drug concoction he downed isn't helping his migraine either. God, why couldn't Odasaku be here to deal with this shit? To top it all off, his guilt of leaving the Port Mafia hasn't subsided! If only he had a rope lying around right now. Maybe messing with Chuuya will brighten his day! But who's that looming in the distance? Oh... it's Akutagawa and Mori trailing behind the hat rack. Guess the day's only going to get worse.
