Summary
“San Lang,” Xie Lian laughs, surprised out of his panic. “Did you buy the whole store?”
“I have a second bag, too,” Hua Cheng says, grinning. “Don’t worry, I know what you eat.”
Xie Lian sits helplessly as his best friend digs through his comically large bag of comically restricted food. Against his will, holiday cheer begins to bubble in his chest.
He can indulge a little, can’t he? Hua Cheng seems to genuinely be having fun.
Xie Lian thought he’d be alone for Christmas. Hua Cheng proves him wrong. And with gentle care and persistence, he finally begins to break through Xie Lian’s belief that being disabled makes him less worthy of love.

Summary
Hua Cheng is a successful idol, reaching his ten year anniversary. In an interview, the inevitable question of his partner's brought up, and while everyone expects him to repeat the usual script, this time he doesn't.
“I’m married,” he says, a ripple of audible gasps from beyond the cameras. “There’s already someone at home.”
“This–this…”
“I owe everything to them. And so, I want to say it today. Crimson Rain is off the table everyone. It’s time I embrace my beloved back, with all the same love and gratitude.”
Unfortunately, Hua Cheng forgets one detail: perhaps he should have told this to his beloved first.
(Or: Hua Cheng confesses in the most roundabout way possible, Xie Lian's confused and jealous, and in between all of this is Yin Yu's braincell saving the day.)

Xie Lian blanches, which is impressive considering the fact that every drop of blood in his body had been flooding his cheeks just a moment ago. “I don’t know! What sort of question is that?!”
“So, that’s a yes.”
“It was not a yes!”
“Which means that I was right,” Yin Yu continues, ignoring his friend’s splutters of protest. “You have a thing for Hua Cheng.”

The lump perked at the familiar address from an unfamiliar voice, and the sheet slipped down to settle loosely atop narrow shoulders. Dark hair hung in a disheveled curtain around a small face, with tear tracks staining pink, chubby cheeks. Honey brown eyes, rimmed in red, regarded Hua Cheng warily.
Even in such a state, he was still unmistakably Xie Lian, and Hua Cheng was instantly and hopelessly endeared by the young prince.
"You're not mama." Xie Lian's lower lip wobbled unhappily.

“No space?” Xie Lian echoes in confusion. This was new. It was a long time since Xie Lian had heard such a statement.
“If you don’t believe me, go take a look at your shrine. I had to leave my offerings on top of the donation box inside.”
“Thank you,” Xie Lian replies. “I’ll go have a look.”

Summary
Xie Lian stares quietly as Hua Cheng works on his latest calligraphic endeavour - a poem titled Butterfly’s Love For A Flower. He diligently writes out each character, stopping only to reference the copy Xie Lian had written for him as a demonstration.
It is a swift, momentary, thing. Over in a flash, and concealed smoothly as another stroke.
Yet, Xie Lian does not fail to notice the slight spasm in Hua Cheng’s fingers.

Summary
The sound of rustling grounds him instantly, and Xie Lian tenses slightly, until he catches sight of a tiny nose poking through the bushes.
“Hello,” he whispers, not wanting to frighten the small fox meandering carefully into his view. The fox sniffs at him with more curiosity than wariness, and Xie Lian settles back into the tree.
He eventually holds out a peace offering of berries - brought to him by Ruoye with a murmured command - which the fox happily accepts. It warms up enough to him after it’s snack, growing comfortable enough around his presence to curl up in Xie Lian’s lap.
