Summary
He leans in a bit and Shadow’s heart starts beating faster for a different reason this time. He has no idea what Sonic might be thinking of doing but he’s leaning in closer, their faces almost touching and Shadow realises he’s never been this close to Sonic before. It makes him panic and he’s about to let go and possibly fall on his ass when Sonic dips his head down and shoves the top of his head to Shadow’s face, the fur on his forehead rubbing against Shadow’s nose.
“Go ahead.” Sonic says, voice muffled a bit though Shadow can still hear the stupid grin in it. “I tasted your shampoo in your bathroom, now you can taste mine!”

Summary
Down on his luck and struggling to get back on his feet, Shadow finds himself more or less a permanent resident on Rouge’s couch, an embarrassing and humiliating predicament for him to be in.
To make matters worse, however, when Shadow ends up locked out of Rouge’s apartment for the weekend, he is forced to crash on the couch of the last person he would ever want to seek help from:
Sonic the Hedgehog.

Summary
He's is in the water before he can even process the need to dive after Sonic. While the hybrid’s eyes have better darkvision than a regular hedgehog, the burn of saltwater as he scans for Sonic is starting to make the effort seem futile before he’s even really begun. Shadow starts to spiral downward, his heart sinking as fast as he is in the dark waters, the strong current, the crashing waves above him.
No. He can’t be gone already, can he? Did he really do all of this to fail? Failure wasn’t an option. It isn’t an option. He closes his eyes to ground himself. When suddenly, the space around him lacks the crushing pressure of the ocean. The cold of the water.
When he opens his eyes, he’s standing in the surf shop again.

Summary
The sight of Sonic wearing clothes is so jarring it momentarily distracts Shadow from something much more pressing: the metallic scent of blood in the air. He darts over as Sonic slows to a sheepish halt. Shadow’s hands fuss around his friend without ever actually touching him, his mouth drawing tighter and tighter into a frown.
“Hello to you too, Shads,” Sonic says with forced nonchalance. His green eyes are darting everywhere but Shadow himself. Shadow swallows and tries to collect himself before taking a polite step backward.
“You smell like blood,” Shadow grunts as his hands curl into fists at his sides. “And your shorts are hideous.”
Shadow lends a helping hand.
