No amount of expensive designer bed sheets could distract Shouto from the tower of medical equipment set up next to his brother’s side. The one that always caught his eye was the heart rate monitor in the centre of it, its slow, steady beeping a reminder of the precious seconds of limited visitation time ticking down.
He approached the bed, his shoes leaving indents in the expensive-looking light blue carpet. His destination was the expensive-looking designer chair, more comfortable than one would assume at first, placed to the right of the bed.

Summary
A canon-divergence AU beginning at the point where Misa is taken into custody as the second Kira and forfeits her Death Note. Light wants to turn himself in, but Rem has decided that Light, and the Death Note, are too dangerous for Misa. Rem forces Light to cut ties with her, hoping she can have a normal life again.
Light breaks up with Misa and continues operating as Kira, leaving Misa alone in L's custody. L, suspecting that Misa might be more powerful than she appears, decides to try to take advantage of Light’s abandonment and befriend Misa, hoping that if he earns her trust, she might turn on Light and help L bring Kira down.

It turned out that was another thing he was wrong about. Keigo wasn’t a Dom, but a Sub. Keigo had been nervous to tell Touya, as most–including Touya–had incorrectly assumed he was a Dom. He had been less nervous to tell Touya he was trans. Keigo had originally assumed Touya was a Sub, something Touya was familiar with. He had inherited the majority of his mother's softer features, along with his white hair which had people assuming he was a Sub at first glance from his looks alone. They both had the same fear, just in completely opposite ways. Touya felt like he hit the jackpot and as their dynamic grew, he knew it was just the beginning.
