And three months after the Battle of Baktan Cross, it becomes that time of the year when their resident retired revolutionary kook commits a new act of carefully planned, humiliating public disturbance to claim mental disability checks for his and Willa’s financial sake. In truth, it has become its own kind of annual, bring-your-kids, mostly family-friendly town custom where people bet what type of trick Bob “Rocket Man” Ferguson will come up with this time to appear crazy enough for another round of government money.
Normally, it would be his daughter Willa who, for realism’ sake, would drive them both back home for rest after the pro forma booking and release from the police. However, her new role as part of the resistance demands her to help and transport some immigrants caught in a raid two counties over, and thus cannot pick her father up.
