When Satoru finally speaks, he won't meet Suguru's eye. "Liar," he laughs, in an empty, scratchy way. "Fuck. Fucking— liar."

Summary
Suguru isn't alone - he's holding hands with two little girls. One on his left. One on his right. He's so absorbed in watching over them that he hasn't even noticed he's being watched himself, yet. He takes one step and then stops, waiting patiently for the girls to struggle their way up the same stair. It's a greater challenge for them than it is for Suguru, on account of their short legs.
Suguru looks up at last, finally noticing Satoru peering over the landing. He says, simply; "They have nowhere else to go."
(Suguru makes a different choice, that day. It might just save them both).

Shoko sticks the cigarette in her mouth and takes her time lighting it. It’s not exactly proper bedside manner, but right now, it’s just the two of them, and neither of them care. “All traces of whatever it was possessing him are gone,” she answers slowly after taking a deep drag. “It’s him, alright. But you knew that already.”
Gojo Satoru wakes up.

Summary
On October 31st, 2017, Gojo Satoru wakes up and immediately realizes the day has repeated. He recognizes this for two reasons. One: his six eyes tell him the cursed energy outlays are identical to the day prior, something that has never happened before and will never happen again, unless time itself is overlapping. And two: Utahime is still in Tokyo, despite her plans to depart the evening prior, and she would never, ever, extend her stay without emergency.
or: Gojo Satoru gets trapped in his own personal Groundhog Day. Like most things in his life do, every day leads back to Geto Suguru.
