After sealing away Collei's dark power, she and Cyno have a long journey back to Sumeru. It is on this journey that they stopped at Wangshu Inn for the night.
aka: I realized Xiao and Collei both have dead god's inside them sorta. Xiao's takes the form of his karma, and Collei has the archon residue and such. But now that it's sealed away, things are all good. Still, I think she'd like the Yaksha story. I wrote this at 1am and did not proof read it so please excuse. Ya know. *gestures to the whole thing*

And through quiet conversation, peace is found.

Summary
Lantern Rite is bright, loud, and overwhelming, everything Xiao usually avoids. But when Aether invites him out for the night, Xiao finds he's unable to resist. They enjoy the festival from its glowing stalls to drifting lanterns, while sharing warm drinks and quieter moments along the way.
or Aether gets Xiao (and himself) drunk and they have a great Lantern Rite.
