The Gentleman Pirate does not arrive. He does not meet Blackbeard by the dock. Instead, he lies on the forest floor, eyes devoid of life as he stares off. Unseeing... dead.
In which the story of Blackbeard and the Gentleman Pirate was ended too soon so Edward Teach and Stede Bonnet cross paths once again in their next lives to fulfill the promises that they had made on that beach.

“Woah,” Stede says softly as if he meant it only to himself.
“Are you o–” Edward’s question dies on his tongue as Stede says, “Am I in heaven?”
“N-no. You’re in a ship,” Ed says, eyes flitting all over Stede’s face and searching for any hint that the man is okay. He considers calling for Oluwande or Lucius, but he hasn’t even come to a decision yet when Stede speaks again.
“Wow,” He said again, staring up at Ed with eyes so intense that it makes him want to look away bashfully, “I didn’t know they had angels in ships.”
