Jiang Cheng feels anger bubbling inside of him. “You think yourself so free of everyone's judgment that they will simply let you walk freely after you defect from the Jiang sect? They are like hounds with a tasty treat in sight and they will attack as soon as they hear the news. And I will no longer be able to protect you.”
Wei Wuxian’s eyes narrow, flickering red for a second. “Let them come! I can take them all!”
He turns to go when he is gripped rather roughly and turned around. “You think, after everything, I will just let you walk away? That I will simply just let you go?”
Wei Wuxian seems to not be expecting this at all. “Jiang Cheng?” he asks, uncertain and a little bit at loss.
