“All I’m saying is that Frankenstein should have started a bit smaller. Maybe with a rat or something.”
“So your problem isn’t with the questionable scientific ethics of animating an amalgam of thrifted corpses– but rather with the specimen itself?” Adrian raised an eyebrow to his coworker. “Do you suppose an undead rodent would have been easier to scramble after than a 6 foot man?”

Summary
It should have been a routine in-and-out mission.
So when things go wrong (as per usual) and Ben thinks he's dead for sure, he's a bit surprised to find himself waking up in the Rustbucket with a ten-year-old Gwen sleeping on the bunk below him, and the calendar on the RV fridge indicating that it was the middle of June in 2006.

Really funny dark humor. Putting my boy through the absolute ringer. Probably never going to update but still a fun read

Summary
"I think," he mutters after a long moment, "I just wanted someone to see that I'm me, I'm not all hero, and I don't always do the right thing... But also, not hold it against me." He crosses his arms over Rook's chest and rests his chin on them, a thoughtful, puzzled expression crossing his face. "You get that."
A trip to the sea ends up being a little more than either of them expected.

Nice BenRook fic! Possibly my favorite. Beach fun, poking at squishy creatures, heartfelt confessions, unresolved romantic tension, all the good stuff

Rusty's been expecting to have this conversation for quite a while now. He didn't expect to have it while dangling upside-down over a pit of alligators, but he supposes that's kind of stupid of him.

Summary
"He tries to ignore the shortcomings in Doc's parenting, at first. In the beginning, he'd taken it as the understandable failings of a first-time father — an emotionally callous comment here, a forgotten promise there. But soon enough, they begin to pile up, piecing together like a quilt of subtle emotional neglect.
And it's not his job. At all. It's not even remotely his job. Still, when Dean comes out of his room crying about a nightmare and Doc tells him he's busy without even looking up, it itches at him. Despite the distance he'd tried to maintain, Brock genuinely feels bad."
A piece reflecting on Brock and his relationship with the boys over the years.
