    Summary

When the ash tree burns, its sweetness turns to smoke.
Mydei, a Meliae scarred by ancient wounds, lives with roots heavy with pain… until an unexpected pact binds him to Phainon.

Phainon never thought of healing anyone. He’s no poet, no lover; his life has always been that of a guardian.
But he was the only one Mydei didn’t reject—and that strange closeness drives him to try something he never imagined: offering him healing.

What he didn’t expect was that, in doing so, the Meliae would start taking root in his own life…
and that helping him bloom would also mean opening himself to a bond that would change him forever.

    Summary

There was only one person who could cook such a delicious meal. The very same only person who could enter and exit his home undetected when he refused to open it for anyone—because he had personally handed over the spare key.

    Mydei.

The man who would spite him with terrible food when his jokes grew as stale as the bread he must have left uncovered just for him, or his methods in their latest spar was as slimy as the fish gutted but raw and unscaled. Who could now recall the whole truth but still prepared such a thing with care for the person responsible for his every death.

Amphoreus has become a real planet forged from the memories accumulated over millions of years.

Every citizen is bestowed all the memories that are rightfully their own, so there’s no escaping the actions Phainon took to prolong the cycles until a true hero could arrive with the new dawn.

But when Phainon is unable to see his own worth and face the tomorrow everyone had longed for, there are plenty of people at his side willing to help open his eyes to the truth.

    Summary

Mydei had once thought Hephaestion was his other half, finding the sort of completion in his companionship that the poets sing of. When he’d lost him, it was a wound deeper than any a weapon has landed on him. He’d closed himself off, drawing inward and tending only to the needs of his people, placing them above all else—for what could he desire for himself, now that Hephaestion was gone?

And then came Phainon, shining and bright-dark and hiding his own heartaches, infuriating and beautiful, to teach him that souls do not always divide into meticulously portioned halves. They crack into uneven, messy portions with boundaries that bleed into each other, shifting and blurring but never consuming. Mydei misses Hephaestion no less for Phainon’s presence, but he is certain that Hephaestion would want him to seek whatever solace he can in a world that is falling apart, and to offer it in turn.

Akechi’s eyes were wide in disbelief - then he laughed; a sharp, ugly noise.

“Oh!” he leaned back on his heels, his vicious expression softening into a mocking smile, “I forgot. This is new for you, isn’t it? Fighting alone?”

    Or;

Akira has a near-fatal encounter in Maruki's Palace. Akechi... barely takes it well.
