Summary
Kuroko washes his feet, for a little while.
These days he found himself waking up from weekend naps disoriented, he and Kagami curled up on the couch, Kagami's arm casually under his neck, as if they had slept like this together, for a lifetime. He'd wake up with tears in his eyes, thinking that this was his old life, that Kuroko Tetsuya the policeman came first, and Kuroko Tetsuya the criminal was the interloper. He felt, deep in his soul, that both Kurokos were loyal to the men they had pledged themselves to, and thus both betrayers. He was at cross purposes with himself.

Summary
This is a fic in which Kise declares his love and gets rejected. No more, no less.
Once upon a time, a friend told you that he knew exactly how he would dispose of a body after murder. One day you will stop equating love with dead bodies. But today is not that day. This is Kise's story. With little experience, he probably thinks of his love as a great light suddenly flooding in, or a color he has seen all his life the wrong way, or a precious weight he didn't realize he was carrying and now cannot drop, or that movie moment when a montage plays across the screen and you realize, it was him all this time. It was him all along.
You, on the other hand, think of his love as an exquisite corpse, one he started by himself and now must complete by himself. It is easy to finish off a thing that never bloomed, like hiding the body of a person you never knew. Love is like digging a hole in your heart, one that can fit a person. You can fill it with dirt, or with a body. It doesn't have to be the body you had in mind when you dug it. Just enough that it's the right shape. One way or another, we cover the hole back up. Then we go right back with a shovel, and dig again.

Summary
Subaru knew that for Fukuho, he was something crossed between a figurehead and a god, a friendly enough tyrant but one who nevertheless ruled with an iron heart and fist. It was a circular codependency. He never just took. He sucked in the energy from his teammates and fed it back to them, the trade wind and the flagship both, but it wasn't an easy relationship to be in. After they lost to Amasaka in Inter-High last year, Issei had admitted he was looking forward to the break, some time off from practice. "And from you," he'd said, eyebrows furrowed even as he grinned.
Subaru had mimed being shot through the heart. "That hurts, Ikkun. I thought you liked me."
"I do," Issei had said, unperturbed. By then he'd been with Subaru for years and was immune to Subaru's tricks. "But you know, it's tiring, being your teammate." He looked up at the sky to avoid looking at Subaru's face and added, "Even if there's no other team I'd rather be on."
Mimura Subaru is Fukuho's blessing and curse.

When Aina, Galo, and Lio eventually find Dr. Prometh's lab under more than five feet of ice and talk to his computer-uploaded brain, Dr. Prometh will tell them that everything Foresight Research Industries developed and sold was his research, and that Kray Foresight just stole it after his untimely death.
Which will not be the 100% accurate truth, but when you are sending out a few hot-headed teenagers in a test model robot that has never been piloted, you don't really have the time to quibble with the details.

Summary
Don't put your heart in the hands of a rock and roll band (or, the live band karaoke AU that no one needed).
On the whole, the best thing about SLICED was that Kagami got paid every month for the gig. Second was the pizza. But a close third would be Kuroko, who was immature despite his serious expressions and grown-up job, petty despite his impeccable politeness to the other members of Seirin, and who despite his general tone-deafness and inability to carry "Sugar" for more than two lines of the chorus frequently surprised Kagami with his carefully worded assessments of Seirin's demos. Kagami found that he was spending more weekends than not with Kuroko at his apartment, Kuroko editing proofs on his couch while Kagami puttered around, trying to endear himself to Kuroko with tea and food. He liked it, and wanted to continue, and annoyed everyone around him, even himself, hovering over Kuroko whenever they were together. "Whipped," Izuki whispered again as they left SLICED at the end of the night, Kuroko with Kagami's jacket spread over his shoulders. Kagami just scowled, trying his hardest not to grin as Kuroko, slightly tipsy, rested his head on Kagami.

Summary
Riko, Kiyoshi, and Hyuuga in a three-man weave.
Not for the first time, she thinks: the quickest path to Hyuuga's heart has always been to rely on him. Teppei had done that when they started the Seirin basketball team, and it had been the most obvious sign she had missed, that Teppei's knife-sharp appeal was in the way he was always saying, with or without words, I need you. He'd been a natural at worming his way into them both. It hadn't been manipulation, or at least not consciously on Teppei's part. But the hypotheticals come quickly and meanly:
If only she had been born a boy too, someone who Teppei could have asked, play basketball for me—
If only it was in her nature to build a hole into her life that only Hyuuga could fill—
If only she had an easy weakness, instead of layers upon layers of demands she's made of her own life to justify asking for more from others—
If only she'd been one of them—

Summary
It's hard to be the wrong person at the right time.
Haruki tells him over coffee after one of his shifts at the cafe. It takes a few seconds for Kouji to process the announcement. Once he does, he blurts out the first thing that comes to mind, which unfortunately is, "Dump him right now and date me instead."
Haruki fumbles his iced coffee, almost slopping it all over his shirt. "What about Mariko? Wait, I mean, Take-san, do you even date guys?!"
"It'll be tough," Kouji admits grimly, "but I will bear it for you."

Summary
Down on the west coast, take two.
It's the line of a guileless man, the kind of pure human being who could listen to someone tell a story like, listen, my friend heard I was in town for the night and rushed over to have sex, and never see anything indecent about the relationship. You hate him for a few, desperate seconds, letting that hate trickle down the line of Kagami's broad back, catch like the bright light of the window on his necklace, slide across his hair and skin dark against the white hotel towel. But it dissipates, like always, because of course he's right. You're pleased. This is what you had dreamed about, when you were in Tokyo wondering whether you should extend your stay and call up him anyway. Like all things Kagami, it's a dream that wanders, fully realized, into your palm, and waits for you to fuck it up.

Summary
Steven makes out. Steven freaks out.
They still had the steak episode to film. It was unbearable to be that close to Andrew all the time and to not be making out with him. Steven felt like an explorer who had discovered a new land mass, Makingoutitca, and he just wanted to keep going back. Even Andrew's puns seemed charming to him, suddenly, which was awful, because they were both giddy and a little hungover and less witty than even their usual low bar. "You certainly can't appreciate this tree," Andrew cut in as they stood under a banyan tree with a particularly dense cluster of aerial roots. "Because you're," he paused, derailed by Steven swinging the camera back at him, "stupid," he finished and licked his lips, laughing, and it took everything in Steven's power to keep himself from throwing himself at Andrew and catching it all on camera. Or maybe, at least, their feet as they made out.

Just a little—of Kuroko—would taste so fine.
They're walking Nigou by the streetball court on a Saturday afternoon and Kagami is complaining about basketball, and not getting to play in the rest of the interhigh, and basketball, and the general unfairness of basketball, when Kuroko says, "The thing is, the generation of miracles are vampires."

5 meals Kagami Taiga makes.
For Alex's last meal in Tokyo, Kagami makes omurice with demiglace sauce, decorated with a little Japanese flag, served with two sprigs of parsley, restaurant perfect. She's two beers into the night by the time he's done cooking, and a little weepy when he brings the plates to the coffee table. "You've both grown up so fast," she wails, trying to get him to take a swig from her can. "Do you remember how small you were when I first met you? Tiny. And now look at you."

Kuroko walks on knives, or, the telling of a basketball fairytale. (A Twine fic.)
He pictures a wide expanse of sea, the water the same color as the sky, thin and bitter on his tongue. He imagines the little mermaid, trembling as she walks through life, watching the prince get married to someone who wasn't her, having little children that she'd watch over like a guardian angel, mute and sweet and docile while she waited until the moment the prince stopped needing her, stopped spoiling her, stopped seeing her at all. Was that better than dying? Was that worth a lifetime of her voice, of walking on knives?
Not really a life at all, he wants to tell Ogiwara, just the holding of breath until you run out or let go.

100 words for snow.
When it gets cold, Jihoon's leg stings. The pain, he knows, is psychosomatic, but it slows him down all the same.
"So you picked up winter hiking," Mooyul grunts as they crunch through frost-dried grasses. "Smart," and Jihoon has learned from Mireu that this is when he's supposed to smack Mooyul on the head, so he does.
