Nerys kisses like she's desperate for it, like the only thing that could possibly matter right now is getting closer to Dax. Dax is surprised, somehow. She was surprised when Nerys left her hand on Dax's bicep as they leaned together to be heard over the bustle of the bar, and she was surprised when Nerys bought them extra rounds of drinks all the way up until Quark's last call, and she was even more surprised when Nerys invited her back to her room with a low breathy voice that did fun things to her heart rate. She could have guessed, should have guessed maybe, that she hadn't been imagining the growing attraction between them, but it was a 50/50 flip. Jadzia likes her bets to be either long shots or sure things.
But this is good. It's really, really good.

There’s something to be said for the way Hal makes his brain slow down. Like with everything else, Barry lives half a click faster. His brain zips from thought to thought, precariousness balanced with supernatural grace. But Hal turns all of that off with a few touches. It’s beyond addictive.

The silence on the other end of the line is rude and judgey. Spooky thinks so little of everyone else around him. Hal clears the street of robots, ready to make a smug remark.
It happens so fast, not even Flash could have reacted in time. One moment, Superman is zipping through the air, and the next he's dropping like a stone. He smashes into the ground as complete dead weight, cratering the concrete. A golden haze shines from within and fades.
"Oh, shit," the Green Lantern says. "Superman?"

“Don’t wake Dick up.” He doesn’t truly threaten or demand in bed, not when he’s running the show, but Clark nods solemnly anyway. “Good boy.”

The twin suns are just beginning to rise. He stumbles to the entrance and collapses to the ground. He does not even fake mediating. Instead, he leans against the rocks and watches the sunrise. Tears fill his eyes and blur his vision.
It makes the colors of the sunrise streak and blend. Tatooine, occasionally, is beautiful.

His new armor does not have a hook on the belt. PT-2224 can not remember why he thinks he needs one, why he misses its absence. One hook, or rather one missing hook, weighs nothing. He trained without one, he's pretty sure.
Even so, he requests it anyway, specifications flying off his fingers without much thought. What if he has to– mind fuzzy, end of thoughts falling away, remaining unsaid, headache in his temple– he collapses to his knees, breathing hard.
No one is around to see. He climbs to his feet, and moves onward. He does not think about his armor not fitting right. He does not think at all. He is a good soldier.
