In which Pitch's slightly-edited plans begin, Jamie is doing his best and we love him, relationships are created, the Guardians can't even, and Pitch gets called a bitch. Not necessarily in that order.

In Jack’s defense, he had been fully on board with flying away from the Guardians to the one place he couldn’t harm anyone and throwing that damn box of teeth that had gotten him into this mess as far into the ocean as he could. But, when he saw a shadow speeding across the grass far below him, he knew it was Pitch.
In which Jack decides to go bother Pitch instead of rage in Antarctica, Pitch shows Jack a different side of him, and a hurt nightmare lays in the grass. Oh, and this all happens in a ditch.

Until he says something and she accidentally laughs at him, which turned into a full blown coughing situation because she was mid-sip, to which he had to hangup to help her recover from.
He also now knows she was eavesdropping on his conversation. (Even though it wasn’t by choice, even though she’d rather be reading her book in peace and be anywhere but at the table next to his).

It's the first winter after Pitch's defeat. Jack is happy, he's not alone anymore, and his memories are gradually returning. But when a treasure hunt gone wrong puts Jack and Jamie in danger, flinging them through time and space, they find themselves on an island neither of them have heard of before. Jack's first priority is to get Jamie home safe, but Berk's inhabitants - human and otherwise - are certainly not making it easy.
Knowing they will leave Berk and the Vikings behind as soon as they know how to, Jack is not going to risk the pain of growing close to any of these people (or dragons, for that matter). But Hiccup Horrendous Haddock, wearing his heart on his sleeve, doesn't seem to want to take the hint.
