“You really do not need to call me that,” Dorian insists. It had been his turn at “What The Fuck Is Up With That?” and the alcohol and encouragement – some might call it interrogation – had somehow gotten him to reveal his actual status in the Silken Squall, and the party had responded, well, exactly how he’d expected them to.
“Oh, but I insist,” Ashton says with a smile that shows way more teeth than Dorian feels is strictly necessary. “My lord.”
Orym, who’s been so quiet that half the party’s forgotten he’s there, suddenly sits up a little more, as fully alert as if he’s just been roused for his turn at watch. “He said he didn’t want to be called that, Ashton,” he says, his voice firm but not hostile.
