Summary
There is a slight mishap at the temple in Roa. Costis helps out.
Costis felt his heart clench in his chest. “Poison?”
“Not exactly,” Kamet said, in the same grimly defeated tone as before.
It was a mating potion. Costis felt his heartbeat lurch slowly back to life. Everyone knew those didn’t work. And even if it did, it wasn’t as though–
“So you see why we can’t allow him to be alone,” the priestess continued. “And we weren’t sure whether Kay had someone who could…but you will do very nicely.” Her eyes drifted over Costis’s body and seemed to linger on his biceps for an unusually long time. “We offered to keep him with the other scholars, but he was very insistent on coming home to you.”
Takes place shortly after Thick as Thieves.

Summary
A canon divergent AU set after the events of Queen of Attolia. After an Attolian soldier is captured in Mede and brought to his master's estate, Kamet knows better than to get involved. He immediately gets involved anyway.
The Attolian was chained securely to the wall by his ankle, but he’d somehow managed to wrestle the handcuffs away from his guard and now he had them clenched in his hands, as though he intended to use them as a weapon. Gods above.
Kamet shook his head at him, careful to stay well out of reach. “You’re scaring the doctor,” he said, in Attolian. “Must we do everything with a knife at your throat?”

Summary
Lightly canon-divergent AU in which Kamet is caught while attempting to escape with Nahuseresh and everyone has to figure out what to do next. Set towards the end of QOA and before KOA.
Nahuseresh’s secretary had destroyed their chances for a significant ransom and had caused quite a bit of damage to the interior of the castle. Not to mention embarrassed them in front of their Eddisian guests.
Some tentative beginning friendships and angst and also a very stressed out version of Kamet. Although that might actually be the only version of Kamet.

Summary
Set post-ROTT. After Costis and Kamet get a pair of fancy handcuffs as a wedding present, they have to decide what to do with them. (They do the obvious thing.)
“I don’t have any interest in seeing you submit to me or to anyone else,” Costis said shortly. “I’ll tell Ion to find a different gift.”
Kamet nodded. There was a faint spark of amusement in his eyes. “You could do that. Or—you could wear them. If you want.”

Summary
AU in which Kamet never goes to Attolia. After war breaks out between Mede and Attolia, Costis is captured and sent to Mede. They're both sentenced to fight as gladiators in whatever the opposite of a meet cute is.
“Well, we may as well be friends,” the Attolian said. “I’m Costis.”
Kamet would just as well have waited in silence, but politeness was a hard habit to break. “Kamet.”
He needn’t have worried. Costis just smiled at him and said, “It’s nice to meet you, Kamet,” and then fell silent as well. Through the thick walls of the cell they could hear the cheers of the crowd, and the clash of metal, and screams.

Summary
Takes place after Thick as Thieves, but if Kamet and Costis had stayed in Attolia to spy for the king. Kamet goes undercover as a slave at the Mede embassy in a nearby city-state to find out key information about the coming war. Costis hates this plan but goes along to try to help him.
Costis felt that ache in his chest again. He lifted his hand to Kamet’s head, running his fingers through the familiar curls. “I won’t be able to help you, though. If things go wrong.”
He felt Kamet nod against his shoulder. “What could go wrong?” Kamet said, and Costis laughed despite himself.
Spoilers for all books through Thick as Thieves and for some elements of Return of the Thief. Tags are for the whole work.
