Summary
They stay that way for a long time, Catra’s face tucked into Adora’s shoulder, Adora gently cradling Catra’s head. Adora is careful not to hug Catra too hard or make her feel restrained, anticipating the moment that Catra will start to pull away — but Catra doesn’t. She hangs on so tightly it hurts, her claws digging through Adora’s jacket and into her back, latching into her like she did when she was a kitten and didn’t know how much her claws could hurt. Adora tries not to wince, tries not to move a single muscle, worried that if she does the spell will break and Catra will struggle away, appalled at having shown weakness.
But Catra doesn’t let go. And so neither does Adora.

“That’s how I died,” Kravitz said, and Taako’s fingers flinched away. Kravitz grasped Taako’s wrist, pulled those fingers up to his mouth for a reassuring kiss.
“I…” And gods, there’s nothing Kravitz hated so much as Taako not knowing what to say to him.

“I didn’t know.” Taako’s touch was featherlight now, reverent.

“Lieutenant,” Rei starts, her tone casual, but Riza knows better as she turns to face the other woman with what she hopes is well-feigned composure.
“Yes, colonel?”
“Why don’t you stay behind a moment?”
Damn it. She was so close to escaping this, so close to getting away for the weekend and getting away from Rei without ever having to talk about what happened at the bar the other night. Riza doesn't know how Rei found out, nor does she care. Maybe Rei was there and overheard it, being the drinker that she is. Maybe someone who was with Riza that night decided to get one over on her by telling Rei about what was said.
Or maybe, just maybe, Rei actually wants to talk about something else. That's right, Riza tells herself. This could be about something trivial, so why panic prematurely?
"If you don’t mind me asking, ma'am… Why?”
Rei tilts her head, a small, devilish smirk taking over her lips that is far more sexy than it should be. Then, she props her elbows on top of her desk, rests her chin in one gloved hand, and goes in for the final blow-
“If you must know, I think we’re due for a little discussion."
