Hyunjin straightened and set her tea to the side before she faced him seriously. “Changbin, you’re twenty four.”
This was true. He’d celebrated his birthday only two months ago, in the party room of an upscale restaurant his mom had picked out, surrounded by his friends and family. That Friday, he’d arrived to look after Seojin for Hyunjin’s weekly late night at the gallery, and had received a hand-made card from Seojin and a kiss from Hyunjin, secreted away in the garage before she’d left for the night.
“You’re twenty years younger than me.”
“Sixteen,” Changbin said. “Don’t round up.”

“Wouldn’t it hurt her feelings?” He asks, letting his gaze linger along her face, her astonishing beauty, her red lips, the hollow of her throat where a diamond necklace sits, winking at him with her every breath. “That I’m with a beautiful woman on Valentine’s Day?”
“It might,” Hyunjin allows. “Does that mean you’ll lie to her?”
“Shouldn’t I?” They’re going in circles, revolving around each other like orbiting stars that will eventually collapse into one another. Changbin knows where this night is going, has known it since she sat down beside him and he caught sight of her eyes, her thigh, her breasts. But shouldn’t he at least pretend at fidelity? Shouldn’t he at least give his wife the grace of bluffing at loyalty before he caves?
Hyunjin ducks her head ever so slightly and then looks at him through dark lashes. “Is she more beautiful than I am?”
“She’s the most beautiful woman in the world,” Changbin replies honestly.

“You can’t jerk off?” Changbin asks. “What—is your hand broken?”
Chan turns that glare onto him. It’s about as menacing as Felix’s wet kitten stare.
“Obviously fucking not,” Chan snaps back. His ears are turning red now, the flush spreading down his neck, over his bare chest.
“Then what’s the problem. I’m not recommending you porn if that’s what—”
“Porn is not my problem,” Chan hisses through gritted teeth. He groans and slumps against his chair, closing his eyes in defeat. “My dick doesn’t work. Anymore.”

Over the years, Hyunjin would learn and relearn the same lesson and no matter how many times it returned to her, she continued to be surprised by it. She would always return to the truth: that being happy simply wasn’t in the cards for her. That somehow, she was always doomed to be the girl she had become the second her father died, standing in front of the empty chapel, grieving and alone.

“It helps me focus,” Chan explained when Felix made him talk about it. It had been weeks at that point of Felix getting off and Chan brushing him away with a little smile when he reached for him, distracting Felix with a kiss or a change in subject as if anything could detract Felix from the cloying reminder of Chan’s pleasure still sitting out of reach.
“It helps you focus,” Felix repeated, not entirely sure what he was saying.

It usually goes something like this: when he has the extra cash and spare time (and honestly not even just when those circumstances are met), Hyunjin arrives at Macho Macho. He watches people fawn over Changbin and tries not to turn green with envy. He watches the show and gets closer and closer to climbing up on the stage and wrapping himself around Changbin right there, in front of every single patron that dares to look at him. Afterwards, Changbin meets him in the back, they get ridiculed for near-public-indecency by the other workers, and then Changbin takes him home.
or: changbin works at a muscle bar, and hyunjin falls in love.

Changbin glances Minho’s way, but his gaze returns to Hyunjin almost immediately. “Too much?” he repeats, and his voice has dropped into that flirty, lovely tone again. He lifts an arm, flexing. “What makes you think I can’t handle much?”
And god, it’s so stupid. It should make Hyunjin want to retch.
Instead, he wants to throw himself onto Changbin’s arm, wants to wrap his legs around his waist and suck on his tongue
