“Hm?” Bruce asks. He's tracing shapes on Minhkhoa's bare chest with his fingertips. It tickles. Minhkhoa doesn’t stop him.
“We finished your list, we don't have to follow what it says anymore. So let's travel around, take our time, see the sights.”
Bruce’s fingers still. His deep breath is warm against Minhkhoa's shoulder.
“I have to go back to Gotham,” he says, carefully.
Minhkhoa exhales just as carefully, trying not to tense. It will do him no good to start an argument right now.
(Bruce can’t leave, not now.)
“Then let's travel through South America, we'll be closer. We can share all we learned when we were apart, refine our skills, put them to the test. Together.”Or;

“I know you don’t trust him,” Bruce says, “but I do.”
“You trust him because you don’t understand,” Luka snaps. “You have seen death. I know it. Yet you are blinded to what he is. I can’t train him any more than I already have.”
Bruce knows what the answer will be, but he still stubbornly presses, “Why?”
“Because he will kill again,” Luka grits out. “It’s inevitable. He’s a psychopath, is he not?”
“…Yes,” Bruce reluctantly confirms, “he is. But that doesn’t make him a bad person.”
(Khoa confided in Bruce about his psychopathy early-on. Luka’s suspicion still sours their training in Canada, but this time Bruce has the means to actually change his mind.)

Bruce accidentally says too much to Khoa when he's hallucinating because of a drug. Khoa needs to fill him in on what happened when the drug erases his memory of that night. Bruce ends up saying too much again, but on purpose this time.
Khoa continued talking, eyes fixed on Bruce even though he couldn’t make himself stare back. “For me, there are two types of people in the world. Those who are mine and those who aren’t. That is how it is both when I’m awake and when I’m asleep.”

"Did you just," Stark begins, staring over at him with some sort of horror. He's standing in the kitchen, cradling what appears to be a gallon of coffee close to his chest as if to protect it from Loki's villainy. "No! No, no, no! You aren't allowed to make jokes that I would make! You're evil! Be silent and brooding!"
"Oh, I'm sorry, is my existence bothering you?"
"Yes," Stark says, "there are actually few things right now that bother me as much as you do."
OR: in between the "puny god" scene and his sentencing on Asgard, Loki gets caught in a time loop. He'd his refund now, please.
(Odin is a shitty parent, the Avengers are confused, Loki is just trying not to go even more insane than he already is, and the author is starting to wonder why she has so much dialogue from these movies memorized.)
