Well, he liked Lu Guang in anything he wore or…didn't wear, especially when he didn't. But there was something about imagining Lu Guang in soft ears, tiny paws, and anything remotely cat-themed that turned his brain to mush.
It all started with cat-printed pajamas, an entirely innocent act.
Until he was standing in front of him with a box containing cat ears, a shiny collar and a tail…with a plug attached to it.

Dan Heng stared down at him. Did he lean closer? “I was disappointed. Himeko and Mr. Yang told me you’d found us, out there, and left as quickly as you helped. You didn’t wait.”
“Did you want me to?” Boothill asked, feeling distant.
“Yes.”
Boothill is forced to come face-to-face with how he felt about finding Dan Heng and the Trailblazer post-Iron Tomb fight, and Dan Heng is all too willing to help him deal with the answer.

They quickly got rid of the packaging, revealing a round and tall cake inside. With only the marzipan ears sitting on top—pointy and white on the outside, rosy on the inside—the icing cascaded down like white bangs of fur, curling down the "forehead" (the sides of the cake) to reach a very stoic, blue-eyed face of a cat.
...
Lu Guang was speechless for a moment. He stared at the cat. The cat, most definitely, was staring back at him; blue-eyed and unimpressed.
Seeing his reaction, Cheng Xiaoshi and Qiao Ling shuffled to the side to properly take in his bewilderment, shaking from holding back their laughter.
Lu Guang looked at the two of them again. Then looked back. The cat was still staring.
"Is this... supposed to be me?" he muttered, the side of his lips twitching slightly.

“So- What you are telling me is-” Cheng Xiaoshi tried to comprehend the situation, with every fiber of his being, yet still not being able to grasp whatever the man in front of him is implying. He’s not sure if he had gone stupid from being punched by Qiao Ling or if everything’s just a made up conversation in his head. “You’re someone from another universe-?”
“Yes. I’m Zhongli, consultant of Wangsheng Funeral Parlor.” Zhongli nodded, as an act of courtesy. He lightly patted away the dust on his coat, whilst remaining his formality of a professional consultant. His eyes glowed amber, which scanned through each crevice of the photo shop, in an attempt to understand his surroundings. “The pleasure of meeting you all is mine.”
“Lu Guang, call the cops-” Qiao Ling, as usual, doesn’t think she’s paid enough to deal with this bullshit. One Cheng Xiaoshi is enough trouble, but to engage with a self-proclaimed funeral consultant from another world? Delusional.
Lu Guang nods, watching Qiao Ling and Cheng Xiaoshi bicker in the background, like two children arguing whether or not to adopt a stray.
“I think I’m just as confused as the three of you,” Zhongli sighs- There’s a lot of explanation to do.

Lu Guang stared at them for a bit before looking back up at the suspicious, long-haired man. “What’s your name, and what is it you need help with?” Lu Guang asked, straight to the point.
“You can call me Ren. Due to my condition, I have problems in regards to my memory,” the man, Ren, started, crossing his arms. “Everything from back then…it’s all gone. I can’t remember anything clearly. All…all that I know is from what that woman told me. When she, she–!” All of a sudden he hunched over, eyes blazing with barely constrained madness as a hand flew up to clutch at his head.
For one, horrifying second, Cheng Xiaoshi thought that Ren actually was secretly a serial killer and that they had managed to trigger some sort of murderous instinct. He shifts on his feet, ready to flee at a moment’s notice, but before he could try and make a run for it, Ren took a deep breath and seemed to calm himself down. “I apologise. I was referred to here by my boss, Elio, who said that you have an expertise in uncovering the truth of past events."

“How much is he paying?”
“How much are you paying?” Lu Guang asks, glancing towards Al-Haitham.
“How’s ten thousand?”
“Yuan?!” Cheng Xiaoshi interrupts, his eyes wide. Al-Haitham briefly looks up, as if calculating the conversions in his head, before looking back at Cheng Xiaoshi.
“Sure.”
Where Cheng Xiaoshi and Lu Guang receive what might have been the easiest commission they'd ever had to crack. Oh to have a besotted rich client.
