Will cupped Mike's jaw and bridged the distance between them, gently rubbing his face against Mike's forehead, careful to avoid the wound. His heart beat painfully with the action, at once feeling undeserving but also like this was his only chance.

Then he was spotted, and the boy stopped in his tracks; with skillful movements, he quickly slung the rifle off his shoulder and pointed it at Mike’s chest. Mike raised his hands while trying to keep most of his weight on his left leg.

GO!” Mike exclaims, his eyes suddenly feeling wet. Joyce looks at him with eyes saying ‘What’s wrong!?’ Lucas looks at Mike’s face, and his expression hardens. Then, he’s running to the mindflayer.—He can't remember the rest. It hurts his head to try and think about it, so instead, he thinks about why he’s suddenly in the past and if this means what he thinks it means. Can he save Will?
