“How?” Geralt gripped Jaskier’s wrist, stopping him from walking away. He pulled the bard back into the sea and stared at him directly. Jaskier offered an apathetic struggle against the Witcher’s grip. Geralt shook him lightly. “Tell me, Jaskier!”

Summary
Jaskier was honestly looking forward to Geralt claiming his Child Surprise. The circumstances--and Ciri herself--just aren't what he imagined. She's acting...strangely. The dwarves don't seem to mind, but they haven't woken up to her staring at them in the middle of the night. Most teens refuse to eat or sleep or speak at some point, right? She'll feel better when they reach Kaer Morhen. He just has to make it a few more days, travelling alone with her through perilous, unknown terrain to the secret Witcher stronghold.
...It'll be fine.
In which a bard contends with a demon in disguise, and the trees in the Blue Mountains do a lot of heavy lifting. Thanks, trees. No mystery here.
Titles are hard.
