Summary
You see, death smells. It's inevitable. Decay takes its toll on everything and everyone.
She thinks of Enid's vanilla strawberry mix shampoo. The one that is so ridiculously Enid that Wednesday has learned to distinguish it from anyone else. She thinks of it, and thinks of the small of decay. She thinks about the two scents mixing to create a horrifying new smell. She thinks how the latter would overpower the former.
She realizes the inevitability of it.
Enid will die.
~
Enid Sinclair is not a hater. She does not hate. She doesn’t get particularly angry. She is nice. She’s kind. And gentle. And good spirited.
Yet all Enid feels as Wednesday’s body plummets to the ground, and she hears the sickening crunch of her bones shattering, is unadulterated, unfiltered, obscene hate.

Summary
Frustratingly, Wednesday dreams. The creature she sees is not shaped like a beast, but she is as dangerous as one. She chases Wednesday through the woods, the vines cutting her hands and face, yet she persists. The hunter becomes the hunted. Predator and prey, in a persistent loop Wednesday would not be able to deny her affection for. The next day, the sound she hears is unmistakable. It’s far, and it’s slipping away, but it’s there. A howl.
It could be anything, it could be a wolf, or another werewolf, but Wednesday doesn’t have the privilege to wait and hope. That’s not her thing. She’s made a promise.
She has to find her. She has to find her.
Or: Wednesday looks for Enid in the Canadian wilderness.

Summary
“Well, okay. If I buy you a drink, will you tell me the story of how you ended up carrying a nose in a plastic bag?”
Carina trails off, their eyes locking once more. There’s a beat. She could say yes. Maya could let her buy her a drink, they could talk, could even end up back in her apartment.
“Sorry. I’m drinking alone tonight.”
The woman turns to her and opens her mouth like she’s about to ask her something, but she changes her mind at the last second. It doesn’t feel right, for some reason, somehow.
The doctor gets up and takes her wine glass with her, and it’s wrong.
Maya feels as if she’s missing something, again. Just an inch from her, just a breath away.
But Carina leaves, and Maya doesn’t look back.~~~
or What If Carina never asked "are you sure?" and Maya never got the chance to say "maybe not"? Would their story look the same? Would it be simply delayed or would it be completely different?

Summary
Ants can lift up to fifty times their body weight. Carina had learned that when she was around four or five year old. She used to kneel on the ground near the old orange tree in her nonno’s field and just stare at them, sometimes for hours at a time.
When Andrea died, oddly enough, Carina thought of the ants. He was heavy, when the paramedics lifted him up and into the ambulance. Humans aren’t able to carry as much as ants. Ironically, an average person can barely lift their own weight. Carina would have lifted his. She would’ve carried him on her back, she would’ve done it for hours, long after her legs cramped, long after the voices had quieted down. She would’ve carried him.
...
Carina had, until today, thought she wouldn’t be able to carry more than her own body weight, plus Andrea’s. Until, that is, a roof fell on her wife, and she was met with the real possibility that she would have to carry hers, too.or the mandatory maya gets hurt on the job fic. im so sorry.

Summary
Each installment is inspired by a song in my own Marina's playlist on spotify. They're not meant to be connected, but some of them might be. Some of them may be AUs, some may be canon compliant. The common thread is that they were inspired by a specific song, which will be the title of the story.
Reading all of them in order to read one is not necessary (but definitely not discouraged!).
