“Oh come on Pomni. You gonna shove your fingers in me, but a little dirty language is too much for you? It’s not even censored. So lame!” Pomni squints her eyes at him. He raises himself up onto his elbows to put his face closer to her. “I bet you’re no good at this anyway.”
If Jax knows anything, it’s that the easiest way to get somebody to quit asking if you’re okay is to make them feel stupid for even trying to check on you. Pomni couldn’t be different. He wouldn’t dream of it. If he was mean enough, she would leave him here, and he would be at peace with his turmoil. Maybe not what he really wants, but for the best. He could get himself off the same way he never enjoys and never speak of this with her again. But Pomni doesn’t get mad, she doesn’t leave, she doesn’t berate him, she doesn’t tell him to take care of himself if he’s going to be a dick about it. She does something worse than Jax could’ve ever imagined.
She’s gonna make him talk about his feelings.

Jax has always been proud of how well he can read people and their characters. Which is why it wasn’t difficult to realize a certain jester’s aversion towards physical touch.
