Summary
Recovery was such a capricious word. Everything hinged on different elements, timelines, phases that seemed to ebb and flow at their own leisure. It was a word Max had grown to hate, to loathe.
And of course the recovery process wasn’t easy or linear, or at least that’s what every doctor and nurse would tell her much to Max’s annoyance.
But then again, she wasn’t supposed to be here to see this side of recovery, so I guess she should be grateful.

Summary
If there is one thing Max Mayfield knows how to do, it is to run. Whether it’s running from her feelings or an interdimensional asshole who won’t leave her alone, she always was on the run. But when she gets back, she can’t help but run toward the person she spent so long trying to push away. The person who never seemed to let her go no matter how hard she tried.
Or the world needs more Lucas and Max centered fics. I needed more, so here we are. Meant to be snippets to add more perspective to Volume 2. Mainly I needed to see Max finally let go and share everything she had been bottling up and for Lucas to stay steady at her side.
