“Wait, when you say ‘you’ll be teaching’, you mean…both of us?” Kara asks, sounding more than a little apprehensive. “Lena and I will be teaching it together?”
Lena’s own apprehension is so high that she’s fairly sure she’s seconds away from hyperventilation, but she’s surprising even herself with how well she’s hiding it.
“Astute observation, Miss Danvers. It’s clear to anyone in the room that you two have…magnetism.” Cat sounds matter-of-fact, but the casual way she states that other people - both students and coworkers - have noticed how she and Kara interact makes Lena want to sink into the floor and disappear.

The next moment happens almost in slow motion; it’s not something Lena would normally do, but without even really thinking about it, she picks up a paint brush that’s still loaded with wet paint and flicks it towards Kara, splattering her white shirt with a splash of bright purple pigment. They both freeze, eyes widening at the realization of what Lena has just done. It’s Lena who cracks first, stifling a giggle behind her fist, and then when Kara continues to gape incredulously at her, the giggle morphs into full on laughter. “I can not believe you just did that,” Kara says, shaking her head as she breaks into a devious grin, her eyes twinkling with mirth. “You know this is war now, right?”
