Today is a bad day, Namjoon decides, as he watches Jimin turn around in his hold with those glazed over eyes — now filled with unshed tears, glistening — and cry, sob, break into the pieces Namjoon desperately is trying to pick up. He tries to glue them together. Tries to make Jimin whole again.
Sometimes Namjoon likes to pretend he’s the only one holding Jimin together with his arms. And he’s scared that if he lets go, Jimin will disappear.
(Or Namjoon himself will.)

He watches the droplets falling to the ground with rapt fascination, attention away from the mangled body before him, facing up the stars. He watches the pool of crimson expand as if it’s the greatest discovery of all times, as if blood isn’t drenching the roof he’s standing on.
He feels nothing but hollow joy, the bitter aftertaste sour on his tongue.
It doesn’t feel like a victory.
