“You want to model for me?” Till asks slowly, just to make sure. “You’re gonna have to get, like, nude and stuff.” He feels heat flood to his cheeks, but Ivan still looks completely unfazed.
“That’s fine.”
Till sits up. “You didn’t even shower with the guys on your team back in high school,” he says pointedly. He gestures to Ivan’s current outfit: slacks with a polo shirt under his varsity jacket. “You hate showing skin.” It’s not something Ivan’s ever said, but Till picked up on it slowly over the years. Ivan’s always careful to cover everything in a way that seems almost compulsive. It started their last year of middle school. Till still doesn’t know why.
“If it’s just the two of us, then it’s fine,” Ivan says plainly.

When Ivan offers to help him practice figure drawing for class, Till is unprepared for the modeling sessions to stir up long-denied feelings within him.

Exhausted, he can only curl up into a ball, self-hatred swimming in his gut. His useless self can't even make it to his own nest, so he can't even give in to his stupid instincts screaming at him for his alpha, his alpha’s scent, anything related to him, and he isn't safe because he is outside the nest, and now his alpha is going to find him sprawled on the floor when he comes back, being the deadweight that he is, and his alpha’s not going to be able to properly rest when he comes back all because he has taken a comment to heart.
He can smell something rotten and twisted in the air, and it takes him far too long to realise that he's the one stinking up the entire house. The usually fragrant lavender and orange scent that comes from him now smells bitter and burnt, and he hates it. His nose and eyes water, and everything blurs for him, colours and shapes fusing and separating, before fusing again.

Summary
Ivan has suffered from night terrors for as long as he can remember. Finding out the only cure was to sleep in Till’s bed, they both grew up accustomed to each other’s acts of affection without thinking much of it. At least that’s what Till thought, kissing your best friend goodnight and cuddling together was a normal thing to do, no? As for Ivan, living with the realization that these might be more than simply nightmares was a personal hell in itself.
