"Nate had the sword pressed so closely to Rafe's throat that he could almost feel the skin slice under the pressure, if only Rafe lost the strength in his arms for a second. A millisecond. One lapse in control on Rafe's part and it would all be over... But despite everything Rafe had done, Nate wasn't a killer. He didn't want to kill Rafe, but he would if he had to - if Rafe forced his hand and there was no other option."
