    “Minori!” Haruka grinned, holding her arms out and catching Minori around the waist. “What’s got you so excited?”

    “You!” Minori struggled in Haruka’s grasp, trying to twist around to see her girlfriend’s face. “I’m sorry I forgot about our date!”

    Haruka leaned over and kissed the top of Minori’s head, taking her tote bag and finally letting her stand up properly. “You didn’t forget about anything. I came to surprise you.” She reached for Minori’s hand, gently leading her across the car park. “How was work? Also why is this so heavy?”

    “It’s not work,” Minori mumbled, mentally combing over the contents of her tote. Wallet… keys… snacks… cheki… oh. She stared at the ground as they shuffled along, positive she was beet red. “It’s nothing. Nothing in there.”
