Also that I only clicked on it because of the turtle"I know, I know. Another original character paired with Azriel, but hear me out. Does Elain, Eris, or Gwyn have a hilariously judgmental pet turtle who might secretly be plotting world domination? No, I didn’t think so.
Novalie does… and that’s just the beginning. She also has a collection of juicy secrets, half of which even she doesn't know yet, and she somehow manages to make Azriel smile. And pine. And brood. And casually threaten violent vengeance upon anyone who so much as breathes too close to her. Protective shadowsingers are the best kind, after all.
Plus, Azriel and the turtle are basically best friends at this point. At least, I think they are. Possibly. There was that one tense showdown when I genuinely wasn't sure who would emerge victorious, but they seem to have moved past it. Mostly.
