Tyler’s body is inhabited by a number of other people. Six, according to their last count, which Tyler still has a hard time wrapping his head around. They remain elusive to him, but their presence is indisputable. Especially when he keeps waking up in random places, or when he is greeted by people he’s never met before, or when he finds messes he doesn’t remember creating.
Tyler is grateful everyday to have Josh as his anchor amidst all the uncertainty – especially when questions about Tyler's past arise, and his alters do everything they can to protect him.

Tyler looks up at him then, it’s cold out here, but their proximity to the fire has sweat dripping down Josh’s face. His beanie is off, and his curls are now so long they’re curling above his eyes. Years ago, if Josh’s hair was this length, Tyler would've done something like brush it out of his face. Even with the mix of emotions he’s feeling right now, he fights the urge.
“I’m not sorry for what I did to get you here. I mean– okay, I am sorry for that, because I know it hurt you, or it’s hurting you right now. But it was necessary. But what I am sorry for is not protecting you like I should've.”
