An AU in which Obi-Wan does exactly that, and there can be no going back. And once the first Jedi falls, another and another follow like dominoes: shortly after, an abandoned Ahsoka gives into her feelings of betrayal and lets her pain feed her anger, while Anakin has no one left but Padmé, and the prospect of losing her will push him to terrible things.
