Summary
"I can stop if this is weird," Evan adds.
'This' being sitting curled over Spalding's weight in his lap, rocking back and forth in rhythmic meter, letting the thin skin of his nose and forehead scrape against the bumpy leather texture of the ball, breathing in even lungfuls of the smell.

Summary
Evan probably should have saved himself the trouble and just stayed in bed, but he hadn't. He can't quite remember why, now, when the thought of surging to his feet and running is bouncing incessantly through his head in wordless demand.
"Stay in the seat," something reminds him as a whisper in his mouth, and Evan winces and bites his lip when the girl at the next table glances over at the sound. Don't attract attention; that doesn't make it bad advice.

Summary
“Already sitting on the bed, Isabella slipped beneath the blankets. And as she did, she watched Violet move through the room with an easy kind of grace, blowing out the last lantern still left glowing. Darkness washed over the room, only blotted out by patches of moonlight that filtered through the glass panes of the window. Isabella had originally left it open, the slight cold sting of a spring night reminiscent of days long gone past, just a fading echo of a frozen house with the warmest memories. Violet only shut it when the coughing had come again, aching in her lungs and ripping up her throat. It was probably for the better.“
Or
Isabella comes to terms with her feelings for Violet.
