Summary
"Hayakawa Aki is perhaps the most indecipherable human Angel has ever met. For someone so driven to accomplish his ambitious goals, he tangos with death a bit too often. Maybe it's in his nature. He's gotten good at the footwork, avoiding stepping on death's toes. But it's a dangerous game. Perhaps accepting his impending death grants him the courage, or perhaps indifference, to get closer than close to things that could kill him."
A light-hearted fic about Aki and Angel getting closer. Mostly canon compliant, before shit hits the fan. Here, we can pretend that nothing tragic will happen to these slow burning hunters.

Summary
“Your eyes.” Angel says to himself but it’s just loud enough in the otherwise quiet room to draw the other man’s attention. Aki’s typing slows to a stop as he sits back in his chair and blinks, clearly caught off guard from Angel’s seemingly random announcement.
“What?”
“Your eyes.” Angel finds that he has to repeat himself often around this man. Maybe he should add it to his list later. If he remembers. “I don’t like your eyes.”
“Why?” If Aki finds offense to what he just said, he doesn't show it. Angel sets down the pencil that he was toying with earlier and shrugs, not really bothering or wanting to offer an explanation. He’s not obligated to tell his life story or his likes and dislikes with someone- let alone a human.
“Are you owed an explanation?” He expertly dodges Aki’s question with a query of his own.
“I guess not. “Aki replies slowly, “it’s not like I’d care about your opinion anyways.”

He’s relieved that’s the question. It’s the easiest one he’s gotten all day. All week. Maybe the easiest one he’s gotten his entire life.
