Dan musters up the courage to confess to Chris, who fumbles the bag so hard his wife has to set him straight.
Or:
"Dan, you want lots of things. You want mandatory sharks at pools to teach children how to swim faster. You want broccoli to be outlawed. You want the mayor to die. This is just one more bullet point on a list - How am I meant to know otherwise? That this is real? You have these phases or moods or whatever and it consumes everything and everyone around you and then BOOM. It's like nothing ever even happened and you forget all about it." He pauses. "You'll forget all about this, too." There's an exhaustion in the angry lines on his face.
"You're not a- a mood," Dan defends, stammering with anger, "this is incredibly hard for me."
"Yeah, well, it's hard for me too."
