Summary
“Hey.” Buck greets him without looking up from his screen. “How do you feel about opening a joint bank account together?”
Eddie, who was mid-sip of his juice, chokes and almost spits it across the room. “What?”
“Yeah, I’m thinking it’ll just be easier than, like, transferring each other money every month for rent and the shopping,” Buck continues.
“… Right,” Eddie replies, wary. Bank accounts are a big deal—one of the only things his father taught him. Eddie has only shared a bank account with one other person, and he was married to her.
Well, come to think of it, the situations aren’t that different. Sure, he and Buck aren’t married. But they do live together. Plus, Buck is basically another parent to his son in all the ways that matter. Maybe it does make the most sense.
OR: The five times that Buck and Eddie navigate life of acting like a domestic married couple as roommates without actually being married, and the one time they realise they kinda are.

Summary
Do you love him?
Before Buck’s mind can formulate the undeniable answer in words, a burning sensation engulfs his forearm. For a split, irrational second, he thinks maybe he’s having a heart attack — but no, it’s the wrong arm, and the pain is too low anyway. He races over to his kitchen sink, planning to douse the flames in cold water, but when he looks down, he almost does have a heart attack.
Because there are two black bands maybe half an inch apart circling his forearm just below his elbow. Two black bands that definitely weren’t there when he left Eddie’s house fifteen minutes earlier.
“No,” Buck whispers, staring down at his arm in something like horror. “Oh, no.”
Because there’s only one thing it could be.
His soulmark.

In a world where your soulmark only shows up when you realize you're in love with your soulmate, Buck's appears at the worst possible time.

Summary
“I…I know I’m late,” Ramon starts, “and I understand if there’s no place for me. But I would really like to come to your wedding. If you’ll have me.”
Eddie stares at him. This is the outcome he’s been hoping for since the day his mother reluctantly confirmed that her RSVP for one wasn’t a mistake, but now that it’s happening, Eddie doesn’t know what to feel. Relief? Joy? Anger?
Shock overshadows everything else, leaving him mostly numb. “You’ve had months to decide,” Eddie says incredulously. “Why now? What changed your mind?”
Ramon reaches into his pocket and pulls out his phone. “Buck,” he says simply.

Summary
“I don’t get it,” Lo’ak muttered, tossing a loose fiber aside. “He never talks about Earth.”
Neteyam paused. Just for a moment.
“He talks about it,” he said, though there was less certainty in his voice than usual.
“Yeah,” Lo’ak said, pushing a loose fiber through the weave with unnecessary force, “but not really. Not like he talks about here. Or about Toruk. Or about us.”
