Steve's voice is shaking and though he's right in front of her, hands gripping her arms tight enough she's sure there will be bruises, it's almost too thin to make out past everyone else's yelling. Her eyes need a second to adjust to the dark blues and shadows of the Upside Down after the smoky red of Vecna's trance. Nancy blinks hard, tears escaping from each eye; she can't tell if it's the fear of nearly dying or the relief of seeing Steve's face slowly come into focus.
