    Suddenly she was laughing, the lightness of it ringing in the air between them, and Hicks felt a surge of satisfaction at the sound, mingled with a sudden desire. He wanted her to smile again and again, to never stop.

    Later, Ripley was fiddling with the wristband and waving away her distracting thoughts. Hicks kept treating her like a person, something she hadn't felt she could be anymore—not since that awful massacre on the Nostromo. And this feeling was very dangerous.
