Sonic Movie 3 Spoilers!
Sonic is struck with grief in the wake of Shadow's sacrifice. Shadow, in his truest form—his pain, his honor, the good in his heart—is Sonic's little secret. The world isn't ready. Nobody would understand, not even his own family. Sonic is more than ready to shoulder the burden.
But Shadow's not dead.
It doesn't take long for he and Sonic to fall into their awkward little tango. Midnights spent sneaking into the Wachowski household lends well to forming a strong, indestructible bond, and it's only natural that, over the course of it all, two hedgehogs fall in love.
Title comes from the song Hunter by Paris Paloma, which played at the theater before my second viewing of Sonic 3, and now is a song I associate wholly with sonadow. Haha, whoops!

Rouge is woken up by the sound of her phone.
She had come home roughly two hours ago, exhausted by a two month recon mission, where she had countless sleepless nights and no comfort. She practically fell into her bed after her bath. Her fur was still damp when she drifted to sleep, the small TV in her room still on.
So naturally, she was curious as to who the fuck was calling her at 3 AM.
Especially because she knows everyone was told that she would be exhausted and tired, and she’s not the nicest when there’s a combo of those two things. She groans as she stretches, her back and neck aching. She must have gone to sleep in a shitty position. It takes her too long to reach and get her phone, the caller not deterring from her inability to answer in a timely manner. Her nails tap the screen as she answers, rubbing her eyes of sleep, and frustration.
“Blue, you better have a damn good reason to be waking me up right now.”
“I know, I’m sorry. But can you check on Shadow?”

(Silver Age AU where the Second Devourer never existed and also a bunch of other stuff happens)
Silver the Hedgehog is terrified of the oppressive and dangerous Council. He has no way to travel back and time and prevent them from taking power. He can't afford to be found by them either. If they discover his powers, he will be taken away and never be seen again. He trains in secret each opportunity he can in hopes to overthrow them one day.
Things get complicated when he is attacked one night by a mysterious monster. He finds his psychic powers have been halved and he has begun to feel very strange each night. As he figures out what is happening to him, the threat of being on The Council's radar looms even closer than ever.
However, his strange new condition may just be exactly what he needs to help him win against The Council once and for all. He just has to make sure he stays in control of himself first, and that's easier said than done. It's hard enough staying hidden from The Council, much less staying hidden from The Council while also becoming a werehog each night!
