Summary
For a second time, Kratos’ greatest and most beautiful weakness is born.
“The palm of just one of his hands dwarfed the infant. Kratos was quick to shift his hold so that he could cradle the boy close to his chest, his arms under and around him in a grip he knew to be excessive in its gentleness.
For a moment that stretched for what felt like an eternity, all he could do was stare, frozen and captivated. Everything else fell away. Nothing else existed. Nothing else mattered, nothing, except—”

Summary
Even with his or her traumatic memories sealed away by the name bestowed upon them by their gods, a shinki’s body remembers. It takes a 103 degree fever and an innocent act of carelessness for Yato to learn just how devastatingly true that is for his own.

Summary
With Father finally defeated, an injured but miraculously alive Hiyori dropped off at the hospital, and the issue of Yato’s precarious existence resolved, all that’s left is to head home for a well-earned night of uninterrupted sleep.
Unfortunately, but not altogether unexpectedly, Yukine’s mental state is still far too fragile for that to be entirely possible. Instead of succumbing to the despair of the moment as he so easily could, Yato is reminded, as he holds his child close: they are destined for a brighter future.

Jesse reflects on his bond with Michelle.
“The joy, the love, the fierce protectiveness; those were all familiar, things he’d expected to feel. It was the way he’d felt when D.J. and Stephanie were born, after all.
But when he held Michelle for the first time, it was like they were the only two people in the world. Now that Jesse had his own children, he knew why. It was like he’d been waiting his entire life to meet her.”

Summary
Cuno’s deciding whether he’s still on speaking terms with his pig. True, the pig stole his speed. But that’s just the nature of pigs. Maybe the pig can’t help it.
***
KIM KITSURAGI – “But are you prepared for a long-term commitment? If you keep coming around, he might start to expect it, and if you stop...”
EMPATHY – If you stop, or move on to your next mind project, it might make things worse than they were before you started. If Cuno has someone showing him kindness, it might hurt worse when it stops, because he was finally getting used to it.
INLAND EMPIRE – Will it truly make it worse? Or will he just realize how bad it was?
VOLITION – Kindness is rarely a complete mistake.
YOU – “Look, today he has food in his belly, when he didn’t before. Tomorrow he might even come talk to me. Even if I, I dunno, die from a heart attack in a month, at least he’ll remember the stuff I did.”

Summary
"I love you," Harry says on June 25, 51, halfway through a game of cribbage. Cuno has done nothing more notable than tell a joke that made Harry laugh.
Cuno doesn't know what to say. Nobody loves Cuno. Loving Cuno should probably be an interisolary crime. "Gross," he says.
An exploration of those Cuno has lost, those he's gained, and those he can't let go.

Summary
And now he’s Icarus, flying close to the sun on wings that he cobbled together from glitter, sequins, and all of the heartache that he tries so hard to smother. He'll shine, he'll sparkle, he'll seize the warmth that he's spent a lifetime yearning for.
But we all know how stories like these go. You can't be Icarus unless you're prepared to burn.
(AKA Karamatsu finally gets to be happy, but—bless his beautiful heart—it’s just not gonna last.)

Summary
Surviving in the wilderness really isn't all it's cracked up to be.
After being gone for a year, John Dory returns to the Troll Tree to find it completely empty. Save for one troll: His baby brother, Branch. Thinking the trolls and the rest of his family dead, he sets off once again to the Neverglade Trail, this time, with his baby brother in tow. Fueled by fear, guilt, and voices from the past he just can't seem to escape, he wonders if he made the right decision.
But he promised his brother he would never leave him again. So he wouldn't.
Besides, he was never known for his great decisions anyways.
(Based on the song "Great Decisions" by Judah & the Lion)

Or... I needed to write more John Dory and Branch ANGST, so here's my rewrite of canon, where John Dory goes back and raises Branch out in the wilderness, and other subsequent shenanigans. Let's see how this goes, shall we?

Summary
Tajima Haruki was killed by mortal hands. Yukine is a gifted name that can be just as easily taken away by divine hands. Permanently, he's no one. Temporarily, he's nowhere at all. In between all of his what-ifs, there might stand Yato.
