I'm writing an Eden fic and I recently made major changes to my outline that cut out a lot of scenes. This one is the most coherent and lacks the least context to understand.Mindless Devintchie fluff where Devin talks a little bit about his time being possessed by Eden. Very head-canony and possibly has a few parts that don't make sense (since its being taken from a greater narrative that no longer exists). Takes place in early season 5 when they're still getting to know eachother.

If Wu wanted to spend his Day of the Departed drowning in a sea of marigolds and shame, hands clasped before decaying pictures of a student long forgotten, then Lloyd wouldn’t intrude. Maybe the next Day of the Departed would be a kinder one for his Uncle. For the Green Ninja, however, he had no interest in the dead- not when there was too much to be done for the living.
He took a deep breath, then stepped out into the quiet monastery courtyard. One hand reached out to push aside the great doors and reveal the thousand step journey off the mountain. He didn’t give the building or his Sensei a glance back as he shut the door, gaze trained on the dying sun disappearing just below the endless ocean.

Summary
On screen, Kim Dokja looks at the countdown. I didn't get to die today and suddenly I'm in TWSA. In a cabin which story was never told in the novel. The novel that ended today, but never truly reached the end. I want to read, Kim Dokja thinks feverishly. I want to read the end. And to do that, I'm going to have to survive.
In the present, Kim Dokja was yanked up by the collar and faced the Protagonist. It didn't even occur to him to get away, resigned to his fate. His head feels like it was stuffed with cotton, as if he breathed some sort of thought-annihilating mental miasma. The incoming violence was bound to happen.
"Tell me the truth."
Kim Dokja's eyes flew open. He had closed them with the expectation of getting his face caved in, not a question.
📖
A non-linear ORV character study/reaction fic where Dokja's suicidal ideation is a bit more obvious from Day 0. Kim Dokja's Company, who had been whisked away into an open space under the starry night after the destruction of the Throne, watches Kim Dokja's memories and realizes that he had intended to die during that fateful subway ride. Not knowing yet that the truth is even more devastating.

Joonghyuk forces his lips to part and speak. “Kim Dokja,” he rasps, sounding out the shape of his companion’s voice, savouring it one last time. The other leans in closer, to better hear what he has to say. It takes all that’s left of him to grit out,
“I'm dying.”
A gentle, scarred palm presses against his forehead, cooling his sore temples immediately, and Dokja laughs. You fool, Joonghyuk wants to say. This is not a joke.
“Joonghyuk-ah,” Dokja says, mirth and fondness laced between the syllables. “Have you never gotten a fever before?”

It's a known fact among the members of Kim Dokja's Company that their founder, Kim Dokja dislikes tomatoes. He tries to keep it discrete but everyone knows.
So what better way to punish him after a particularly stressful scenario that has caused unnecessary stress among his companions, than to have him eat a heaping plateful of the cursed fruit he despises most? It's an ingenious plan, at least everyone but Kim Dokja thinks so.
And it's all fun and games until he goes into anaphylactic shock.
